Quality Circles

Every year, a growing number of Quality Circles are formed at AW EUROPE, inspired by the long experience our parent company in Japan has acquired in this practice. In 2018, more than 10 QCCs are active on our Belgian sites.

What is a Quality Circle?

A Quality Circle is a small autonomous group of employees (between 4 and 8 participants) who gather on a regular basis over a few months to analyse and solve a problem of direct concern to them by using specific quality methods and tools.

An epitome of the Japanese industry, the Quality Circle (QC) is a major organizational contribution of our parent company Aisin AW. Supported by our Total Quality Management team, QC members have the benefit of a methodological support and appropriate trainings into the use of various tools.

On the AISIN Group level, every year a European convention of quality circles takes place, exchanging the experience gained by existing quality circles in the different Group companies.
The convention concludes with the election of the best projects.

Another yearly convention takes place within the AW Group in Japan: the members of one of our groups are invited for a week in order to make a presentation of the results of their work, measure up with the other groups and exchange on their respective experience.

Quality Circles: a source of professional fulfilment

A merit of quality circles is not only to provide innovative and original solutions enabling substantial cost reductions but also to contribute to our people's personal development. By taking part in quality circles, employees develop their commitment, their teamwork and communication skills in a positive spirit of cooperation. They acquire new skills in various areas, become better performing and proud of their jobs.
