This year AW EUROPE celebrates its 25 years of presence in Belgium
The year 2015 will be marked by several events and celebrations commemorating this anniversary. To start these celebrations, an official ceremony was staged on May 12th on our Braine-l’Alleud site in presence, among others, of our President, Mr Tatsuya Iwatsuki, the President of our parent company Aisin AW, Mr Mutsumi Kawamoto, the Federal Minister of Mobility Mrs Jacqueline Galant, the Mayor of Braine-l’Alleud, Mr Vincent Scourneau and the Chief of Cabinet of the Ambassador of Japan, Mr Yoichiro Yamada.
During this VIP event the 25 years of continuous growth of our presence in Belgium were reminded. These years have seen a gradual but constant expansion of our activities focussing on our target of Being AW in Europe, i.e. acquiring the capacity of performing here in Europe all the activities our parent company is performing in Japan. This ambition has required the acquisition of specific know-how in fields not traditionally available in our country. Our President has stressed the excellent cooperation from local, regional and federal authorities in the development of our company and recognized the happy mix of cultures that makes the work atmosphere at AW EUROPE so unique.
Focussed on performance, but never at the expense of respect for the human factor that remains at the centre of its concerns, AW EUROPE is addressing the new challenges of the European automobile market with confidence, drawing its force from its traditional roots. This is exactly what the Japanese ceremonial of the Tree Planting represents symbolically, which our invitees cheerfully carried out under the watchful eye of our Vice-President Thierry Kaisin. The presence of this third Sakura cherry tree on our Braine-l’Alleud site will remind us of our commitment to the values that have made the success or our Group and our company in Belgium.
