On Sunday, October 4th, under a wonderful autumn sun, AW Europe opened the doors of its Baudour site to the public in the framework of the Journée Découverte Entreprises open-doorevent. This year was AW EUROPE’s 4th participation in this nationwide event and marked the 25th anniversary of our presence on the European continent. On a marked footpath meandering through our production and logistics workshops, visitors had an opportunity to discover our various activities on a 1.5-hour long journey that also provided some hints into our quality activities and the tests we carry out on our Automatic transmissions. Safety was ensured benevolently by a team of Red Cross volunteers. In the afternoon, a caravan of some 100 old-timers showed up on our car park to the delight or the young and old. Under a big marquee, members of our staff served a free drink to our visitors. For each served drink, a euro was set aside for the well-known charity Resto du Cœur in Mons.
Amongst our personnel, 127 people volunteered to show to the visitors their daily work, our organizational principles, our technologies and our technical facilities. For a day, some of them had an opportunity to experiment another job but always in the same friendly atmosphere. A nice team work we will keep fond memories of and we hope has provided our visitors some insight into our activities.
